- Jessa,
-
- I'm afraid that I am not completely up to date on what is going on with
- AppleLink pricing. All I really know is that something is happening, and that
- a lot of people have expressed concern over it.
-
- BUT...I would like to voice from the Apple side that the help from people on
- MacApp.Tech$ has been ABSOLUTELY INDISPENSABLE in our efforts to develop
- MacApp. Some people on MacApp.Tech$ have mentioned their importance to MacApp,
- but I wanted to make sure no one thought that they were just a bunch of
- self-portentious, egotisitic, weenies. Quite the opposite. Without our working
- closely with the people on that group, MacApp would not be what it is today.
- It's one of the greatest gifts these people can give to Apple: their free
- labor. They identify and fix many problems with MacApp, and share them with
- the world.
-
- If what is occuring with the pricing inhibits people from contributing to the
- future growth to MacApp, then no one wins. The prices may be higher, but that
- doesn't necessarily mean higher revenues. Not only will less people use
- AppleLink (hence, negating the increase in prices), but other aspects of
- AppleLink suffer, such as the free flow of information.
-
- I know that you are not the one who determines AppleLink pricing, but thanks
- for listening.
-
- - Keith
